Boris Pahn, Partner at audalis in Germany and Louis Stroebel, Managing Director at SST Attorneys in South Africa, have been appointed to the committee effective July 1 and will serve five-year terms.

The alliance’s four regional advisory committees form an important part of AGA’s governance structure by representing the members’ interests and views in their respective regions. Boris and Louis take on roles that will see them become advocates for their respective sub-region’s members on matters relating to the legal profession and the regional business community. Both will play an important role in supporting implementation of regional strategy.

Boris and Louis replace Lex Thielen from Thielen & Associes in Luxembourg and Michael Kohler, also from audalis, who step down after successful tenures.

Boris comments:

“It is an honor to have been elected to the EMEA Regional Advisory Committee. This is an excellent opportunity to help develop the alliance’s membership and profile further across Europe. We are a fast-growing and ambitious alliance that brings together high calibre, independent professional firms that offer a wide range of expertise to domestic and foreign clients operating in the EMEA and in all other world regions. I look forward to the challenge ahead and to helping the alliance to develop to the next level.”

Louis said:

“As a member of the EMEA Regional Advisory Committee, I can now contribute to the strategic planning of our alliance and look forward to representing the interests and views of our growing network of market-leading independent firms in the diverse African region and to help drive our expansion further across the continent.”

Giorgio Marcolongo, EMEA Regional Chair of Alliott Global Alliance, added:

“Despite the pandemic, the Alliance has significant momentum in the EMEA region, and it is important that we continue to pursue our development targets. We are very thankful to Michael and Lex who have been instrumental in helping to take the region to a new level.
“Appointing Boris and Louis reflects our continued commitment to ensuring we have the right people on the team who will help to move us forward in the years ahead.”

Giles Brake, Alliott Global Alliance’s CEO, said:

“Louis and Boris are experts in their professional fields, and just as importantly, business strategists who contribute significant knowledge that will help to maximize the alliance’s value proposition for international clients and the professionals who advise them. I look forward to working with our new team members in the years ahead.”
