Alliott Group, the world’s sixth largest multidisciplinary alliance of professional services firms, has expanded its reach in the United States by appointing niche international trade and national security compliance firm Torres Law PLLC (‘Torres Law’) based in Dallas, Texas.

Founded in 2016, Torres Law is a national law firm growing rapidly and offering a range of services to its increasingly international client base which includes advice on US customs, exports, industrial and national security policy, and corporate law. Torres Law is headed up by Shareholder and Managing Member Olga Torres who, along with a team of professional and support staff, serve clients mainly in the aerospace, defense, retail, software, digital, and private equity sectors.

A frequent speaker, author and moderator, Olga has lectured on export controls and international trade for organisations, universities, and government agencies in different countries, including in the UK, the Netherlands, Mexico, Thailand, France, and Canada.

Olga comments:

“Because of the interaction we already have with accounting firms, particularly in customs cases, we have been looking to join a suitable alliance for some time. We are excited to have been admitted to Alliott Group and are keen to partner with member firms across the world, particularly in the EU, Israel, US, and South America. Members’ expertise will be required by some of our global and local clients who do business abroad and in the United States.”

Jeffrey Berger, Chair of Alliott Group’s North America Advisory Committee and Co-Managing Partner of New York law firm Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe LLP said:

“Expansion of the North America membership is a key alliance priority. We have plans to appoint strong independent business law and accounting firms that will complement and support each other’s activities and, by networking with our international colleagues, drive new business opportunities in the region. We are delighted to welcome Torres Law and look forward to working with Olga and her team.”

Alliott Group COO Giles Brake adds:

“2020 is proving to be another year of significant growth despite the current crisis and we are delighted to welcome Torres Law to the alliance, a firm with a strong international trade practice in the United States. They are a dynamic law firm with an international outlook and have significant interactions with accounting firms across the world, especially in customs cases. The firm brings valuable international trade law expertise into our group that our members can tap into when serving clients who are taking advantage of the growth opportunities offered by trading with businesses in different jurisdictions.”
