AGA’s EMEA Conference Focuses on Delivering a More Connected Alliance
01 June 2026
Alliott Global Alliance (AGA), which operates from more than 340 offices in over 100 countries, recently welcomed 109 professionals from representative firms across 38 countries to Milan, Italy, for its three-day EMEA Regional Conference.
The annual event brought together delegates from leading law and accounting firms for a programme focused on strengthening collaboration, supporting the next generation of leaders, and helping firms adapt to the professional, technological, and strategic trends shaping the future of the industry.
Following a welcome from Worldwide Chair Giorgio Marcolongo the previous evening, AGA's Global CEO, Giles Brake and the Executive Office team opened Day One of the conference with an update on Strategy 2030 which focuses on not only the continued expansion of the Alliance’s global footprint, but also on ensuring members can meet the changing needs and expectations of international clients and remain resilient in the face of rapid changes within the professions.
Brake commented that the opportunities for a global alliance such as AGA are significant if alignment with the standards expected by today’s buyers of professional services can be achieved:
“The international firms, networks and alliances that will thrive in the years ahead will not simply be the largest, they will be those that are the best connected and the easiest for clients to engage with across jurisdictions.”
With this year’s event taking place in Italy, an increasingly attractive destination for wealthy individuals, family offices and internationally mobile families, Paolo Bifulco, Partner at BĒS Associati in Milan, explained the country’s strategic value for wealth planning. Bifulco set out strategic tax reforms such as Italy’s HNWI Flat Tax Regime, Inbound Workers Regime, as well as inheritance and gift tax laws.
Day Two of the conference allowed delegates to participate in a facilitated cross border networking hour before enjoying a workshop led by Jocelyne Macelloni (Barakat + Bossa, USA) and Aleksander Widawski (JWW, Poland) on cross-selling and co-servicing clients globally. Another highlight of the conference was former BBC Legal Correspondent and now Senior Partner at Maltin PR, Clive Coleman, sharing perspectives on how professional services firms can raise their profile to improve profitability and secure their growth.
Attendees also enjoyed the opportunity to experience the culture, hospitality, and vibrant atmosphere of Milan while continuing to strengthen long-term professional relationships across the Alliance.
Commenting on the conference, Giles Brake said:
“Much of the future success of AGA will be defined by how effectively we can deliver services to clients across borders – adoption of technology and harnessing the skills of our talented people will be key to achieving this – but equally important will be maintaining our focus on delivering excellent judgment and service that feels more customised.
“Many thanks go to our colleagues at local host firms BĒS and B4Lex for their outstanding support and hospitality and to Saga for their continued sponsorship. We look forward to our Worldwide Conference in Amsterdam in November 2026.”
