Biography

Charles Gillis is a seasoned business executive who has over thirty years of law firm administration experience. At Platt Richmond Charles oversees all strategic and operational matters for the firm, including finances, human resources, and administration. During the decade prior to joining Platt Richmond, Charles served as Chief Administrative Officer for an AMLAW 200 law firm and as Executive Director for a Texas-based full-service law firm.

He has worked on a variety of initiatives to support bilateral trade and exchange programs between the United States and other free nations. He previously served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canada-Texas Chamber of Commerce and served on the Executive Committee of the Canada-Florida Chamber of Commerce. He also served for many years as a volunteer advisor to a Canadian crown-corporation focused on foreign direct investment initiatives and export enhancement.

Charles holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas as well as an SHRM-SCP certification. His articles have appeared in numerous U.S. and Canadian publications. He is the author of the book The Seven Year Trap: Back Office Observations of the Business of Law and the Path to Partnership.
