LEGALYS Appointed as Alliott Global Alliance’s Legal Representative in Mauritius

LEGALYS strengthens AGA’s presence in East Africa and reinforces the Alliance’s commitment to providing a truly global alliance of offices delivering cross-border legal, tax, audit, advisory, and accounting services to internationally focused companies and private clients. 

Positioning itself as the French leader in the Indian Ocean in corporate litigation and legal and tax advice, LEGALYS was established in 2023 through the merger of two well-established practices, YSyS and G&P LEGAL. With four partners and their respective teams operating across offices in Mauritius (Port Louis), La Réunion, and Mayotte, the firm provides coordinated legal services across these territories and key regional markets.

LEGALYS maintains a broad practice encompassing both corporate and litigation services, with its Mauritius office benefiting from dual expertise in French and Mauritian law. This dual capability is particularly valuable given that Mauritian contract law is governed by the Mauritian Civil Code and is largely based on French legal principles.

The firm’s practice areas span corporate litigation, legal and tax advisory services, contract law and commercial disputes, employment law, insolvency and restructuring, criminal litigation, and public service delegations, primarily serving clients in the transportation, gas, pharmaceutical, securities, and real estate sectors, with certain of the firm’s client base being publicly traded/stock market listed companies.

LEGALYS maintains an active presence within the French business community in Mauritius as a member of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mauritius. The firm also demonstrates strong community engagement through Partner Olivier Guerin-Garnier’s role as President of the Association of French Citizens Abroad in Mauritius, the leading organization representing the French expatriate community in the jurisdiction.
