We are pleased to announce that Kathleen Gaber, Principal of Chicago law firm member Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell, Ltd. (‘Masuda Funai’), has been appointed to the North America Regional Advisory Committee of Alliott Group, the global alliance of independent accounting and law firms.

Ms. Gaber, who is also Co-Chair of her firm’s Immigration practice, has over three decades of experience representing and advising domestic and international corporations as well as representing individuals on business immigration and other employment issues.

Alliott Group’s Advisory Committee members act in an advisory and supportive capacity to members in their region and are the “eyes and ears,” feeding back their views to the Worldwide Advisory Committee and Worldwide Board. Ms. Gaber’s appointment enables her to contribute a wealth of industry knowledge from both a domestic and an international perspective and assist with implementing the alliance’s strategic plans across the North American region.

Ms Gaber comments:

“As a member of the Advisory Committee, I look forward to collaborating with my regional and worldwide advisory committee colleagues to help develop strategies to make our alliance stronger across North America. 2020 will be another year in which we move forward at pace to appoint strong independent law and accounting firms across the region. Achieving these goals will ensure a more effective alliance and greater opportunities for our member firms in the US, Canada, Mexico and overseas to exchange best practices, share innovative ideas and increase business within the Alliance.”

Jeffrey Berger, Chair of Alliott Group’s North America Advisory Committee and co-Managing Partner of New York law firm member Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe LLP, adds:

“Kathleen’s appointment is really great news for the region. Alliott Group experienced unprecedented international growth over the last year due to a strong Executive Office that enjoys the support and advice of the volunteers who serve on our regional Advisory Committees and Worldwide Board. Kathleen will enhance the Group’s ability to expand that growth to North America. Kathleen is a great leader with a sharp mind, who will bring commercial acumen and bright ideas to the committee in the years ahead.”

Alliott Group has four Regional Advisory Committees (North America, EMEA, Latin America and APAC) with each consisting of a maximum of 10 volunteer members who together form the Worldwide Advisory Committee.
