We are delighted to announce the admission of two new member firms in Nairobi, who together will provide members and clients with the full range of accounting, tax and legal services in Kenya.

Gitonga Mureithi & Company Advocates

Founded in 2007, Gitonga Mureithi & Company Advocates is a Nairobi law firm which provides Arbitration & Litigation, Immigration, Tax Law, Commercial and Real Estate services.

The firm’s team comprises 12 staff members who together provide services across a number of sectors including Government and state agencies, medium-sized companies, banks and financial institutions, manufacturers, high and medium net worth individuals, media companies, insurance companies and realtors.

Gitonga Mureithi & Company Advocates is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, East Africa Law Society, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-Kenya and the International Bar Association.

Historically, the firm has enjoyed an average growth rate of 7%, however, their aim is to increase this to 10% in the coming years.

On their reasons for joining Alliott Group, Partner Stephen Gitonga comments:

“To achieve our desired growth, we need to diversify and extend our international client portfolio through membership of an international alliance. This will enable us to develop a stronger reputation for creative legal solutions as needed by a new, more international client base. Without a doubt, Alliott Group is the right alliance for any medium-sized law firm seeking to break the glass ceiling. We are excited about what this new relationship will bring.”

Stephen Gitonga, Partner

Giles Brake, Alliott Group COO, adds: “The nature of legal services in East Africa is evolving rapidly. Alliances such as Alliott Group can help Africa’s small and medium level firms operate like truly international law firms by building their capacity and providing support that such law firms would not typically be able to access locally. Kenya is a very important market in the East African Community- we firmly believe that Gitonga Mureithi & Company Advocates are an excellent addition to our alliance and further strength our standing across Africa.”

Ababsy & Associate

Ababsy & Associate was established in 2012 to provide consultancy services in Financial Management, Accountancy, Tax consultancy, Audit & Assurance and Investment Advisory to organisations to help them to maximize their productivity and efficiency.

The Nairobi accounting firm’s 15-strong team provides their service offering in English, Swahili, Somali and Oromo across a wide variety of sectors including: Contactors, SMEs, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Oil & Petroleum, Financial Sectors, NGOs and Government Agencies.

The firm is registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and a member of the Kenya Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking on Ababsy & Associate’s admission to Alliott Group, Partner Abdinoor O. Abdow comments:

“Thanks to a favourable economic climate and political stability following elections in Kenya, we are expecting to grow at a rate of 30% for the next two years. For this reason, it is the perfect time for us to turn our focus to our international growth plans. We believe Alliott Group will support us to gain the global brand recognition we are looking for as well as provide the opportunity for us to meet and share ideas and knowledge with our international colleagues.”

Alliott Group COO, Giles Brake, adds: “The appointment of these two growing, ambitious independent firms ensures reliable and dynamic representation for our global members and their international clients in Kenya. Both firms can remain non-exclusive and fully independent, while developing the strong personal relationships across the world that will help to fuel the growth of their firms and support the long-term success of their clients.

"The accession of these two impressive firms offering a wide spectrum of services and local market expertise provides a strong platform for the growth of the alliance into East Africa. Our strategy in Africa includes further growth into the East African Community (EAC) with its combined market of 172 million people which comprises Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. We are also looking to add firms in Eritrea and Ethiopia. Fiercely independent firms with a global mindset are invited to apply. With a growing number of collaborative firms joining in Africa, the outlook for Alliott Group’s African membership looks very bright."
