Alliott Group, the international alliance of independent professional services firms, has begun its expansion into Central America through the appointment of independent law and accounting firm DV Business Solutions (DVBS) in Costa Rica.

The move meets Alliott Group’s need for an established and trusted provider of professional services that can service the needs of clients in Costa Rica and expands the alliance’s reach in Latin America.

DVBS is a relatively new firm staffed by experienced legal and tax professionals which offers legal, accounting, tax and business consulting and advisory services. The firm is based 20 km northwest of the capital San Jose. Headed up by Co-Managing Partners Daniel Araya and Vladimir Blanco, both formerly of top 10 global law firm Dentons, they are supported by a team of highly experienced professional and administrative staff.

DVBS is highly regarded in the region for its work serving a wide range of high-profile clients including those in the manufacturing, fintech, pharmaceutical and real estate industries. The firm also acts for clients with business interests outside of the region, including in the USA, South America, The Caribbean, Europe and Asia. DVBS is planning to expand its service offering over the next two years to offer international tax services, including transfer pricing.

Daniel comments:

“I am extremely pleased that we have been accepted as Alliott Group’s exclusive legal and accounting member firm in Costa Rica. We had been looking for a strong platform that will allow us to continue to develop and expand our team’s experience of cross-border and multi-jurisdictional projects and transactions.
"Our strategy over the next few years is to further strengthen our international tax offering and through our membership of Alliott Group we can support and advise local clients who are looking for opportunities outside of Costa Rica as well as assisting foreign clients who are looking to invest in the country.”

Santiago Lussich Torrendell, partner at Estudio Lussich Torrendell & Asociados in Uruguay and Chair of the Latin America region, said:

“Alliott Group has significant momentum in Latin America right now and we are focused on building an alliance of independent business law and accounting firms that will collaborate to drive cross border business, ensuring high levels of client service. Through their extensive knowledge and contacts in the region, Daniel, Vladimir and all at DBVS will also be invaluable when it comes to assisting with our continued membership development across Latin America.”

Alliott Group COO Giles Brake adds:

“I am proud to welcome DVBS to our international alliance and to expand our reach to yet another country. Costa Rica has experienced steady economic growth over the past 25 years due to its openness to foreign investment, its political stability and gradual trade liberalisation.
“To have accountants and lawyers working closely together under the same roof at DVBS is a huge advantage for clients in terms of synergies, fast service turnaround and convenience. The firm’s multidisciplinary approach fits perfectly with what Alliott Group is building at the global level with law firms now comprising around 30 percent of our total membership and specialist service providers that support the work of accountants and lawyers also being integrated strategically into the membership. This is creating a unique dynamic, making business happen between our members and adding real value to client relationships.”

Alliott Group’s Latin American membership is growing organically at a steady rate with Estudio Nunes & Asociados Abogados, (Argentina), Consulcamp Auditoria e Assessoria (Brazil) and Vazquez Tercero & Zepeda (Mexico) all joining within the last year.
