Biography

Karen has over 30 years' experience as a practicing Attorney-at-Law and is currently the principal and owner of InterCaribbean Legal.

She has a clientele of individuals, family businesses, private and public companies, financial institutions and private investors.

Her specialty areas are Real Estate; Trust and Estate Planning; Regulatory and Compliance; Securities; Loan Documentation; Mergers & Acquisitions; Intellectual Property; Corporate Governance; Procurement and Maritime Law.

Karen is a Certified Anti-money Laundering Specialist and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of International Arbitrators.

She is a member of the International Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners; the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA) and the Barbados Bar Association and a committee member of the STEP Special Interest Group on Mental capacity.

With interest in the development of the renewable energy sector in the Caribbean, she is the Chairman of the Electric Light and Power Committee, a Barbados regulatory committee for advancement of RE Investment in the renewable energy sector.

Karen sits on the Board of several private and public companies and is a consultant to InterCaribbean Corporate Services a licenced corporate service provider in Barbados and has presented at various seminars and webinars on consideration for investment in Barbados.

Professionally, she is called to the Bar of Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana and is registered on the Roll of Barbados and Guyana and leads a team of 6 Attorneys.
