Biography

Marta Grieve (nee Khomyak) has over 15 years of experience and specialises in international arbitration and fraud litigation matters. Her particular expertise and experience is in complex multi-jurisdictional disputes that arise from corporate holdings and transactions connected to Russia, CIS and worldwide. She has successfully coordinated proceedings in numerous jurisdictions across a wide range of industries and had more recently focused her practice on asset tracing and debt recovery. Marta is 'especially good in international arbitration and fraud litigation matters' (Legal 500). She is experienced with international arbitration proceedings before the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA/ICDR) as well as various ad hoc tribunals. She issued expert opinions before numerous arbitral tribunals and courts worldwide. Marta has served as a co-arbitrator under ICC rules and is a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR in Paris. Marta represents clients in a wide range of industries, including banking, energy, shipping, construction and telecom. She has also represented governments and state-owned entities in both in contentious and non-contentious matters. She has previously been based in Astana, Kazakhstan and in Kiev, Ukraine. Marta is fluent in English, Russian, and Ukrainian, versed in Spanish and Polish.
