Biography

James Oguns is the Managing Partner of the Lagos office. He is a seasoned professional with over 19 years of experience in the field of finance and accounting in Nigeria. Before joining the firm in 2013, he was in Deloitte as a Risk and Reputation Manager where he was involved in the audit of some of the firm's high profile clients and engagements in Nigeria.
James is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria. He holds a Bachelors degree in Economics (with 2nd class, upper division) from the University of Benin, Benin-City, and M.Sc. in Finance from the University of Lagos. He has also attended various management training in and outside Nigeria.
He has made a series of presentations in various In-House-Training programmes organized on IFRS for Deloitte and the Firm. He is also a resource person at ICAN IFRS Certification Training Programmes.
His sector expertise: financial institutions, construction, consumer business, government agencies, oil & gas, and NGOs.
James Oguns who is the Risk Management & Compliance Partner of the Firm is currently a member of the Members' Education and Training Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He has equally served the Institute in the Research and Technical Committee in the past.
James is the author of a Management Accounting textbook titled Management Accounting: A Simplified Approach.
