Biography

Ms. Wedgeworth brings extensive experience in all aspects of global trade controls and trade compliance programs to Torres Trade Law.

Ms. Wedgeworth offers clients her insight on international trade compliance through her expertise in understanding trade controls from an operational perspective as well as a leadership perspective. Ms Wedgeworth has successfully served as both an independent trade professional and empowered official for Fortune 500 companies and start-up companies seeking to expand beyond U.S. borders. Ms Wedgeworth is highly skilled in navigating clients successfully through the complex U.S. trade laws and regulations, engaging with the Department of State, Department of Commerce, Customs and Border Protection, Department of the Treasury, and other agencies regulating U.S. trade. Ms Wedgeworth has extensive experience with the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR). She supports and advises her clients in trade compliance matters affecting daily business operations as well as the significant challenges of audits, disclosures, fines, and sanctions arising from trade violations. Ms Wedgeworth has helped several companies successfully recover from significant enforcement actions brought by the U.S. Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Ms Wedgeworth is particularly skilled in trade controls affecting the global marketplace for Aerospace and Defense technologies. Most recently, Ms Wedgeworth is expanding her skills in the areas of trade sanctions compliance as a Certified Sanctions Specialist of the Association of Certified Sanctions Specialists (ACSS), and FDA compliance to assist human and animal food importers and processors in developing strategies for maintaining and improving regulatory compliance.

Ms Wedgeworth formerly served as the Trade Compliance Policies and Training Manager at Esterline Technologies Corporation (now Transdigm Group, Inc.) where she was responsible for the development of trade compliance policy and training strategy. She successfully developed and delivered internal trade controls and multilingual multimedia compliance training programs to 12,000+ employees at 60+ business units around the world. Before joining Esterline, Ms Wedgeworth developed her global trade skills with CAE (Canada), serving as Manager, Contracts and Export Compliance for CAE subsidiary Presagis USA and Presagis' foreign affiliates in both Canada and Europe. In her role with CAE Presagis, Ms. Wedgeworth was responsible for oversight and management of all aspects of export compliance and implementing compliance standards at Presagis worldwide facilities, including developing, monitoring and training procedures for product jurisdiction and classification determination and export licensing.
